Dear Members,
I hope you have been keeping well and staying active since the start of the Movement Control Order (MCO), until this time.
During the period of club closures which began on 18 March, we have taken time to review and reassess our business performance and strategic priorities. Like many businesses both in Malaysia and around the world, we have not been spared the economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
As a result of this, I regret to inform you that after much deliberation and consideration, we will not be reopening our CHi Fitness IKON and The Scott Garden clubs and they will officially cease operations with immediate effect. The key reasons which led us to this decision were mainly driven by the historically low foot traffic, both at the club itself and the general vicinity, an immediate drop in membership during the closure period, as well as the substantial investments that will be required in order to sustain the club operations going forward.
We have communicated alternative training and membership options to our IKON and The Scott Garden members in order to minimise disruption to their regular fitness routine.
We wish to assure you that we remain fully committed to our business in Malaysia and provide support to those who are in pursuit of a fitter, healthier lifestyle. As we prepare to say goodbye to these two clubs, the team and I would like to express our gratitude for your support and loyalty throughout the years.
